When exiting the application, there could be a user preference to close all open documents. This might increase shutdown time by a little (since this check and action could happen after the save dialog prompt) - but will definitely bring down subsequent startup time.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. As far as I can tell, you mean don't "Reload working files on startup," which is already implemented in the preferences under the File tab. Since there isn't a 'Pending' status, I'm closing this bug for now. If that isn't what you meant, please post again, and I'll reopen this.

As per http://www.crimsoneditor.com/english/board/CrazyWWWBoard.cgi?db=forum6&mode=read&num=7860&page=1&ftype=6&fval=&backdepth=1

We should perhaps implement this feature/or a safe mode.

Changed summary to reflect "safe mode". I suggest this be implemented as a "--safe" or -c (clean?) option. I don't really know what's passed right now, so I don't know what it should be called. Also, we need a help paramater. Neither "cedt --help" nor "cedt /?" worked as expected :(

i think we should just add it as a command line option as you say then create a shortcut that executes CE with that option.. shouldn't be too difficult to implement.

Done as of rev 190.

switch is "/safe" or "-safe"

also added a startmenu shortcut CE-safe that passes this switch.

Preferences -> File ->reload last working files on startup (is the proper way of disabling this feature, which means that you could have diabled it by modifying the correct option in your ini file.)
