wildcard characters in file type does not work like ab*.asm

better description:

Doing something like '*.<filetype>' or '<name>.*' works just fine, but putting an asterisk with anything besides a '.' next to it doesn't work.
For instance '*.v' works but '*v' doesn't. Also, 'alu*.v' doesn't work.

Confirming and changing the summary to reflect this.
